Congratulations to Dat on successfully defending his dissertation! (Postscript: and on moving to the University of Chicago as a prestigious Kruskal Instructor!) Dat did beautiful work at the intersection of statistical theory, latent variable models, and population genetics, and it was a pleasure to have him in the group.
